CDU Assistant Manager - Dublin

 

Practical experience of day to day management and running of a CDU is desirable however candidates with staff management  experience in a laboratory, pharma or medical device manufactuing setting would be welcome to apply, particularly those with experience in quality management systems.

 

The CDU Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in the planning and co-ordination of the provision of centralised decontamination services within the company under the direction of the CDU Manager.

 

The role of the CDU Assistant Manager includes but is not limited to:

 

  • The appointee will work with the CDU Manager to cover the full range of duties on a day-to-day basis and carries accountability for managing the department in the absence of the CDU Manager.

  • Assist the CDU Manager in managing the performance of the staff.

  • Deputise for the CDU Manager at multi-disciplinary team meetings.

  • Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the values of the company.

  • Development of programmes for good manufacturing practice in the CDU Department in line with current ISO standards and guidelines.

  • Develop and maintain efficient traceability systems in line with best practice.

  • Daily supervision of supervisors and technicians and monitoring of their work and record keeping.

  • Co-ordinate the team to ensure that medical devices / packs are produced on time to the agreed standard.

  • Maintain adequate levels of CDU consumable supplies.

  • Undertake quality control and quality assurance checks and documentation of results: this includes daily routine checking of mechanical processing equipment such as ultrasonic washer, washer disinfectors, steam and autoclaves

  • Organisation of workload and assignment of tasks to ensure planned service levels are maintained.

  • Ensure the quality of products issued by the department.

  • Maintain internal quality audit and results.

  • Assist in the preparation for be involved in external audits.

  • Assist in purchasing of products and be aware of standard requirements used and assess the quality and usage of these.

  • Assist the CDU Manager in scheduling of all decontamination equipment maintenance and validation.

 

Candidates must have the following skills/experience:

 

  • Very strong IT skills (MS Office, excel word, track and trace)

  • Excellent administration and organisational skills

  • Management of QMS an advantage

  • Experience in KPI reporting and presentation

  • Innovative and passionate team player

  • Experience in implementing change management programmes

  • Performance management experience of staff
