    CDU Manager - Cork

     

    A CDU Manager is required to manage a centralised decontamination unit in Cork. The CDU Manager should possess a clear understanding and commitment to the ethos and philosophy of decontamination. The role of the CDU Manager includes but is not limited to:

     

    • Managing the performance and scheduling of all CDU staff

    • Strategic planning for the CDU

    • Management of relationships with stakeholders

    • Optimisation of processes in line with best practices in the unit

    • Attending multi-disciplinary team meetings

    • Developing programmes for good manufacturing practice in the CDU

    • Management of the traceability systems in line with best practice

    • Management of supervisors &  technicians and monitoring of their work and record keeping

    • Co-ordination of the team to ensure that medical devices / packs are produced on time the agreed standard

    • Organisation of workload and assignment of tasks to ensure planned service levels are maintained

    • Preparation of monthly KPIs and management reports

    • Ensuring the quality of products issued by the department

    • Maintenance and development of QMS

    • Assisting in the preparation for external audits 

    • Assisting in purchasing products and be aware of standard requirements used and assess the quality and usage of these

    • Maintaining adequate levels of CDU supplies

    • Maintain an excellent knowledge EU Directives, Standards and HSE National Code of Practice for Decontamination and apply to daily management of the department

    • Undertaking quality control and quality assurance checks and documentation of results: this includes daily routine checking of mechanical processing equipment such as ultrasonic washer, washer disinfectors, steam and autoclaves

     

    Experience & Skills:

     

    • 3 years+ working as a CDU Manager or similar

    • 3rd level qualification in sterile services or a related area preferable

    • High attention to detail required

    • Experience working in a similar busy environment and delivering results

    • Experience with people management

    • Team worker, ability to meet deadlines

    • Strong general IT skills required ( track & trace, MS Office) 

    • Experience in working within a QMS (IS0 13485 or similar)  an advantage
