Zehnacker Ireland Healthcare awarded ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications for its catering, cleaning and decontamination services.

Mr Maurice Buckley, NSAI CEO, presented Zehnacker Ireland Healthcare with the certification to the Quality Management Standard ISO 9001 for catering and cleaning services and the certification to the Medical Devices Quality Management System Standard ISO 13485 for its centralised decontamination services.

Zehnacker Ireland Healthcare provides catering and cleaning services to healthcare clients across Ireland and decontamination services from a state of the art central decontamination unit on the grounds of Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital.
The €5m central decontamination unit is a service concession arrangement between Zehnacker Ireland and Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital was developed to provide shared services to both public and private hospitals in addition to Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital. The unit is managed by Zehnacker Ireland Healthcare and the service is fully compliant with the HSE, European and now ISO 13485 standards ensuring that all medical devices reprocessed in the new unit are decontaminated to meet the highest quality requirements.This is the first shared service unit to achieve this standard in Ireland.
